“The institutions that embrace 3D printing today will lead tomorrow.”– Dion Weisler, CEO, HP Inc.

On January 17th 2017, Dion Weisler, CEO of HP was presented in the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and shared his strong belief in 3D printing’s disruptive force in the 12-trillion-dollar manufacturing industry.

Mr. Weisler believes we are on the cusp of the 4th Industrial Revolution, driven by 3D printing and digitalisation. He thinks digitalisation is already happening, with 3D printing linking the physical world with the digital world and blending them in a unique way. HP is at the forefront of 3D printing technology. It tries to build an ecosystem manufacturing transformation needs by establishing partnership with companies like SAP, Nike, BMW and Proto Labs and has created an open 3D printing platform.

He is also very optimistic about 3D printing’s positive impact on supply chains and environmental protection. The current supply chains are too complex, too slow to respond and wasteful. With the proliferation of 3D printing, supply chains will be shorter, simpler, and more efficient. It will reduce waste and save time, energy, real estate and transportation cost, having a direct positive impact on the environment.

Great minds think alike. Spare Parts 3D fully shares the perspective of Mr. Weisler. We have faith in the huge potentials of 3D printing. It is happening and will definitely thrive in the future manufacturing industry. Companies that take the move today will take the lead tomorrow.
