Spare Parts 3D selected to drive AM spare part adoption at Braskem.

News from the Metal AM | 5 October 2020

Spare Parts 3D, a French-based startup specialising in Additive Manufacturing for spare parts, has been selected by Braskem, headquartered in São Paulo, State of São Paulo, Brazil, one of the largest producers of thermoplastic resins in the Americas, to assist the company in adopting AM for its spare part supply chain.

According to Braskem, having to manage a large-scale inventory of spare parts means the company has a number of opportunities for AM spare part adoption in its operations in Europe and the Americas, such as reducing long lead-times for critical parts, addressing obsolescence, managing emergency part needs, and reducing the cost of carrying heavy inventory due to high minimum order quantities.
